Are you available on short notice for weddings?
We are usually booked 9 months in advance however it never hurts to ask!
If you are not available, do you have other officiants you recommend?
Yes, there are other officiants whom I can recommend.
Are we required to meet with you?
Yes. Rev. Lorelei requires a meeting. She believes that it is important that you like her and she likes you. For this reason she insists on meeting with you personally or via SKYPE. That way there are no big surprises on your wedding day!
What can we expect at our first meeting?
You will meet and get to know each other. Once we decide that it is a goof fit the wedding is booked. You then will go on this website, fill out the bookng form and send in a 100$ retainer fee.
How early should we book?
Dates can fill quickly – especially Saturdays. So book at least 9 months in advance.
Does Rev. Lorelei officate in the summer?
Rev. Lorelei will not officate weddings outdoors in the hot summer months, June through August. If you have an indoor wedding planned she will be happy to attend. She just doesnt do well in the heat!
Can you marry us on really short notice?
If the date is available, yes!
What is the cost?
Costs vary from $350 to $500. Out of town weddings will incur all expenses.
Are there travel fees?
A charge 50 travel time outside of Austin is assesed. If you want Rev. Lorelei to travel outside of the Austin Metro area like Amarillo, Houston Dallas or a destination outside of Texas the cost of airline travel and expenses are born by the couple.
Do you attend the rehearsal dinners or reception?
No. While Rev. Lorelei is deeply honored to officiate your wedding ceremony, she believes that the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception is celebration of family and friends, therefore she does not attend either event.
What about wedding rehearsals?
There is no fee for rehearsing just prior to your ceremony. Wedding rehearsals on a different day are available for an additional fee depending upon the day and month.
What happens if you cannot make it to the ceremony?
Rev. Lorelei arrives at least 30 minutes early to every wedding ceremony. To date, she has never even been late or missed any ceremony. However, she realizes that bad weather, injuries, car problems or other unavoidable occurrences might conceivably delay or prevent arrival at the wedding ceremony. If this should happen prior to the event she will let you know in advance and offer an alternative. For this reason you will have her cell number so you can keep them with you the day of the wedding. If we have not arrive 30 minutes before your start time call us!
How long are your ceremonies?
The ceremonies typically last up to 25 minutes, from walk in to first walk! Ceremonies that last much more than 25 minutes tend to lose focus. You want your guests to remember your ceremony for how beautiful and personalized it was, not for how long-winded it was.
How many ceremonies do you do a day?
Rev. Lorelei only takes one wedding booking per day, maximum of 3 a weekend!
What if our ceremony is running behind, how long will you stay?
Rev. Lorelei allots approximately 2 hours total for your ceremony.
Can our children participate?
Yes, In fact Rev. Lorelei encourages you to include your children in the ceremony. She can show you several beautiful rituals and vows that work very well with children of any age. Children from previous relationships sometimes feel left out and this is a beautiful way to let them know they are a member of this new family. A special gift can be presented to the child at this time.
Can our family (parents, grandparents etc.) participate?
Yes, it's a wonderful addition when members of your family and/or your friends participate in the ceremony.
A member of my family has passed away. Is there a way to honor their memory at the ceremony?
There are several options available to remember a family member who has died or who cannot attend your ceremony for any reason.
Can our pets participate?
What fun! Yes! But please check with your ceremony venue for their regulations.
Do you perform theme weddings?
Yes, however REv. Lorelei reserves the right to say no to some :)
What do you wear?
Rev. Lorelei wears black, brown or grey suits, no robes! And she adds a splash of color that matches your wedding colors.
